This exhibition from the Empire Art Loan Exhibition Society covered British watercolours between 1914 and 1953. In view of the time period covered, works with military subjects, many from the Imperial War Museum, featured strongly.

It was the last in the series of exhibitions from EALES covering British watercolours. The two previous ones had covered the periods 1750-1850 and 1850-1914.
