The Gallery is the hub this year for Christchurch's much anticipated SCAPE 2006 Biennial of Art in Public Space. This year's theme playfully alludes to the unspoken rules for art in public spaces, and showcases work by leading contemporary artists.

Christchurch Art Gallery is the hub of the SCAPE 2006 Biennial of Art in Public Space. This year’s theme playfully alludes to the unspoken rules for art in public space, and showcases the best in public art from here and abroad. don’t misbehave! runs for a six-week period, during which Christchurch’s public space will work as an interface between artists and audiences, creating a highly active environment and festival-like atmosphere within the Cultural Precinct of the city. Within this context all parties, artists and audiences must decide how they want to ‘behave’ in relation to the event!

As part of don’t misbehave! Christchurch Art Gallery presents a provocative and challenging indoor exhibition featuring works in a variety of media by an impressive selection of international and New Zealand artists including Mark Titchner, Carey Young, Ronnie van Hout and Eve Armstrong.
