James Robinson's Set Fire To Self - Drown 4 entered the collection almost a decade or so ago, and the prolific Dunedin artist has gone on to win the Wallace Art Awards and produce a huge body of work since.
His latest show receiver transmitter opens tonight at Artbox, and runs for a few weeks. Check it out while visiting - or re-visiting for that matter - Burster Flipper. I'm looking forward to seeing some new work from James, and in the meantime here's a couple of pics of Set Fire to Self - Drown 4 as it appeared in a Recent Acquisitions show not long after it was purchased. Oh, and being the generous fellow he is, James even gifted the gallery a companion piece, Set Fire to Self - Drown 5.
