This exhibition is now closed

This exhibition has been organised by the Hocken Library for the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council and will tour New Zealand during 1972 and 1973. It is planned as the first of a series of exhibitions spread over a number of years, which will survey the whole development of New Zealand painting up to the present day.

The exhibition is made up of approximately 65 paintings, both watercolours and oils, most of which are of moderate size with only a few larger paintings.

An illustrated catalogue will be available and will include an essay on the paintings of the period set against the general background of the times.
