Hotere: Empty of shadows and making a shadow

This exhibition is now closed

An exceptional survey of lithographs by one of New Zealand's greatest artists.

Ralph Hotere is one of New Zealand's most important artists. The exhibition offers for the first time a comprehensive survey of his lithographic works, a major aspect of his oeuvre.

The display includes a selection of lithographs produced over the past 20 years that not only present Hotere's masterly skill with a variety of techniques but also his ability to incorporate major themes in his work, including environmental issues, biculturalism, religion and poetry.

A Christchurch Art Gallery exhibition in association with the Christchurch Arts Festival.

The exhibition is accompanied by a full-colour catalogue with essays by Jillian Cassidy and Peter Vangioni.
