Te Wheke Fun Day
Bayleys Knight Frank Foyer
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED
Celebrate the opening of the Te Wheke exhibition with performances, storytelling, and Pasifika-inspired making workshops for the whole family.
Te Wheke is a new exhibition showcasing the Gallery's wonderful collection that puts contemporary work in conversation with the historical – and includes some important loans from other museums and private collections.
It tells stories of navigation in the Pacific, from Hawaiki outwards, and of belonging and what it is to say this place is home. The wheke (octopus) is a symbol of this travel to peoples of the Pacific, and we have taken this to heart in the planning of this dynamic exhibition.
Join us for a day of amily events that will give you fresh ways to have fun together, enjoy with your ears and eyes, use your creativity, feel more at home in the Gallery, and take in this new cultural adventure of an exhibition together.
