The first home owner has been collecting art since the late 1980s, though some items come from family.  The collection dominates the compact apartment and its installation was largely devised by artist Simon Ogden. It’s a highly varied, and some would say eccentric, collection featuring New Zealand and international artists. Some of the furniture itself is art - Scandinavian mid-century modern but also older English pieces. What are the highlights?  A book with a portrait of Rodin by Renoir; a huge painting of the most famous man in France in 1890; a massive wall hanging by a buddy of Picasso; an etching by a Whanganui lad who became one of the world's greatest glass artists… enjoy!

At the second home the owner has been involved in drama and art history teaching since the early 1970s. They have been collecting art since the mid 1970s. The collection is eclectic even though the size of the townhouse has restricted the number of purchases in more recent times.
