This print is from the book 'La Mer des Hystoires' by Pierre le Rouge. A complete history of the world with numerous woodcut maps, diagrams and illustrations, it was first published in Paris in 1488. Numerous later editions are known.

This page states that Childeric occupied the land of the Franks during the eighth year of the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Zeno, after which his son Clovis (c466 – 511) became the first Christian King of France.
