We’re delighted to announce that Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū has won a number of accolades at the 21st Museums Australasia Multimedia & Publication Design Awards. The prestigious annual awards celebrate excellence in the Australasian museum sector and were presented on Tuesday evening during a gala dinner in Melbourne.

We won the Book and Magazine categories for our Little Books of Art series and Bulletin magazine respectively.

The Little Books of Art are a series of four cracking wee books, each curated to a different theme with favourite artworks from the Gallery’s collection. They also picked up the Judges' Special Award!

Bulletin is the our multi-award winning quarterly magazine. It is a place for ideas, experiments and opinions and is designed in an industry leading partnership with the graphic design class at the Ilam School of Fine Arts. Its production is sponsored by PMP Print.

We were also highly commended in the Exhibition Package category for our On for Ron campaign and shortlisted in the Exhibition Catalogue category for the Aberhart Starts Here catalogue.

Director Blair Jackson is delighted the high quality of the Gallery’s publications has again been recognised by industry peers: “Our publications are an important platform for showcasing exhibitions and writing about art. They also provide a great way of sharing our collections with a wide range of audiences so to get these types of accolades is fantastic.’’
