Baseland

Behind the scenes

Gallery staff are busy behind the scenes at the moment preparing for the installation of Shane Cotton's exhibition Baseland which opens at our Tuam street gallery and the Ilam Campus Gallery at the School of Fine Arts, University of Canterbury on 7 June.

It sure is good to finally have Shane's work here in Christchurch and for our audiences to have the opportunity to see some of his recent work in person. Baseland provides a selection of works from the exhibition The Hanging Sky which toured to Brisbane, Sydney and Wellington over 2013 but was unable to be shown here due to the Gallery being closed. The show, split between two venues, runs until 27 July at Ilam Campus Gallery and 17 August at our Tuam street space.
