The Gallery is going up in the world
As reported on TV news this week, masses of goo, to use the technical terminology, is being pumped into the ground beneath the Gallery. The idea is to raise the building and make it level.
And here's the proof it's working. The concrete sill of our loading bay used to be flush with the tiles outside. In the earthquake both tiles and sill sank together, now the sill is moving back up to where it belongs, giving us a level building.
