Lesson Nine For all levels
The works selected for this lesson look at a variety of art-making approaches
in New Zealand in the last 50 years.
Gallery Tour 1 hour
The styles used by the chosen artists demonstrate their greater awareness
of international movements in art and the increasingly multicultural
nature of New Zealand society.
The discussion of works by Colin McCahon, Philip Clairmont, Ralph Hotere,
Tony Fomison, Rudolph Gopas and Margaret Hudson-Ware directly relates
their work to the Option 12 Art History topic: Expressionism and Abstraction
in relation to international movements.
