The Gallery, in its Collection policy, increasingly reflects the multicultural nature of our society and our city. The works selected highlight the work of artists such as John Pule, Fatu Feuu and Michel Tuffery.
Gallery Tour 1 hour
Discussion focuses on the subject matter, the patterns, the making, the colour and the ideas, customs and traditions that speak of Polynesia.
It goes on to look at how these have been adapted by artists living in 21st century New Zealand.
Gallery Tour and Workspace Activity 11/2 hour
The hands-on activity for this lesson involves a simple relief print that draws together the source of the subject matter and the use of the resulting artwork.
