Lesson Five For all levels
Along with understanding the nature of supports and paint, knowing about
colour is an essential requirement for a painter. This lesson explores
the variety of ways artists use colour to speak to the viewer.
Gallery Tour 1 hour
The works selected for this lesson analyse many of the ways colour can
be used, e.g. it can be used to create a focal point or create depth/distance,
to create 3-dimensional form, to establish the time of day and the weather,
or a particular mood.
Gallery Tour and Workspace Activity 11/2 hour
The hands-on activity picks up on and experiments with one of the uses
of colour.
