Murray Hedwig: A journey... cycles of work ... and where I am at 1971–2009

Journey through three decades of personal works that define, haunt and obsess photographer Murray Hedwig, as he reflects on his development as a photographer/artist. Themes reoccur in bodies of work gathered over varying time periods. His most recent project, Whitebaiters Never Lie became a unique outdoor exhibition as well as a book. Murray Hedwig has a diploma of fine arts (hons) from University of Canterbury and has tutored in design and photography at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology.
Dr John Clemens: The Twenty-first-century Botanic Garden

The botanic garden is an ancient and international phenomenon, evolving in response to the demands of the times. Each is recognisable in more than name as a botanic garden, yet each has its own peculiar complement of plants, its own character. Where does the Christchurch Botanic Garden currently sit in this diversity? And what will its multifaceted content and character be in the foreseeable future? Dr John Clemens is a landscape architect, landscape ecologist, organometallic chemist, and certified agricultural scientist. As curator of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens he is responsible for shaping the plant collections of the future as well as for all things botanical in Christchurch.
Marlene Le Cren: The Role of the Arts in Local Government

Marlene Le Cren, arts advisor to the Christchurch City Council, discusses council policy, community funding and programmes relating to the arts in and around the city. Le Cren has been arts advisor for the Christchurch City Council for nine years. She is responsible for council funding relationships with major arts organisations in the city, and acts as an advocate for all art forms within the council. Prior to joining the council, she was head of performing arts at Linwood College.
