Event Highlights 25 June – 8 July
Welcome to the Christchurch Art Gallery e-Newsletter. The Mātāriki programme draws to a close this week, with several great events on offer. Of note is a tribute to the great New Zealand poet Hone Tuwhare on Friday 27th June, which is sure to be a memorable evening. Don’t forget to enrol in the next Art Appreciation Course beginning mid-July, and make sure you pay a visit to Morris & Co: The World of William Morris during its last few days on show.

The beautiful wife of William Morris was the subject of many Rossetti portraits – this delicate sketch was drawn towards the end of the closest period in their relationship. Sandra Ellis delves into the private lives of these three intriguing characters. |
