Insight Art Appreciation Courses
Find out
more about art by joining the Gallery's Insight Art Appreciation course for
beginners. This enlightening course uses the Gallery's historical and 20th
century artworks to discover more about portraiture, landscape painting,
abstract works and contemporary art. Insight is available over four consecutive
Tuesday or Saturday mornings, 10.30am to 12.30pm. The course costs $60,
Saturday course starts 3 November, Tuesday course starts 6 November.

Art Trek

You are welcomed to participate in Christchurch's annual collective gallery open-evening.
Art Trek will take you into the cultural heart of the city to enjoy a diverse range of artistic activities public galleries, dealer galleries and not-for-profit art spaces.
Many of the galleries, including the Christchurch Art Gallery, will be providing refreshments and a free bus will run on a 30 minute cycle connecting the participating galleries in the opposite parts of town - The Cultural Precinct and the High Street Precinct.
The Christchurch Art Gallery will act as the central 'hub' providing information for those seeking further assistance, as well as prizes at the end of the evening.

the history of the School's artistic and cultural achievements.
